Situated in the eastern part of Nepal is protected by the Makalu Barun National Park and conservation project. The Makalu is a four pyramid shaped mountain in Nepal, standing tall at an astounding elevation of (8,481m) approx. Makalu is the fifth tallest mountain in the world.
Makalu Region Trekking is renowned for its variations in climates. Generally a low altitude centered trekking region of the Arun valley. Makalu Region Trekking is an ideal combination and mix of dense forests, in between the terraced slopes higher up along with the mighty Arun River. Typical high pastures form the upper slopes, which is bordered to the Makalu-Barun National Park, an important conservation area for many threatened species. The main highlights of the entire trekking region is the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area, which lies in the Solukhumbhu and Sankhuwasabha district, established in 1992. Chamlang Himal and Barun Valley are the major jewels of this area. Renowned for its altitudinal and climatic variations; the Makalu Barun area offers a remarkable and diverse habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna. Makalu Region Trekking boasts of rich natural paradise including beautiful mountains, pristine forest, and a wide variety of plants, animal life and the simple and warm hearted Sherpa are the attractions of this region.
Makalu Region Trekking is enduringly breathtaking and requires an enormous amount of physical ability along with good walking experience. Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar and trek to Khandbari on same day.
Day 4: Trek from Khandbari to Chichila.
Day 5: Trek from Chichila to Num (trail splits to Kimathanka (restricted region and normal region Makalu BC).
Day 7: Trek from Num to Seduwa (at Seduwa Police check point and Makalu Barun National Park entry permit check point are there).
Day 8: Trek from Seduwa to Tashigoan.
Day 9: Rest Day – ashigoan.
Day 10: Trek from Tashigaon to Khongma- La.
Day 11: Trek from Khongma to La to Dobate/ Mumbuk.
Day 12: Trek from Dobate to Yangre Kharka.
Day 13: Trek from Yangre Kharka to Jhark Kharka/ Langmale.
Day 14: Trek from Langmale to Makalu Base Camp.
Day 15: Rest Day – Makalu Base Camp.
Day 16: Trek from Makalu Base Camp to Swiss Base Camp.
Day 17: Trek from Swiss Base Camp to high Camp for Sherpani Col.
Day 18: Trek from High Camp to East Col via Sherpani Col.
Day 19: Trek from East Col to Baruntse Base Camp via East Col.
Day 20: Trek from Baruntse Base Camp to Panch Pokhari.
Day 21 : Trek from Panch Pokhari to Anda Pokhari/ Khongmading.
Day 22: Trek from Anda Pokhari to Mera Pass.
Day 23: Trek from Mera Pass to Mera High Camp.
Day 24: Trek from Mera High Camp to Mera summit and back to Mera Pass/ Khare..
Day 25: Trek from Khare to Kothe.
Day 26: Trek from Kothe to Chhetra -Bu.
Day 27: Trek from Chhetra Bu to Chhuthanga via Chetra-La (Pass).
Day 28: Trek from Chhuthanga to Lukla.
Day 29: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Souvenir and sightseeing in Kathmandu.Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 30: Final departure.
