The inhabitants of Mustang call themselves as Lobas, and they have their own king or Tribe leader, Jigme Palbar Bista. Upper Mustang Trekking region offers a rare opportunity to explore monastery that dates back to centuries, along with caves, local tribes and scenic beauties of the varied landscapes. This exciting region holds some of the world’s most spectacular wonders stating from the world’s deepest gorge the Kaligandaki region into the world’s highest regions of Lo-Manthang Valley that passes through barren landscapes, steep rocky trails up and down hill along with panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and several other peaks.
Upper Mustang Trekking region or the rain shadow trekking region trek commences from Pokhara with an instant flight to Jomsom. Once we are here we follow the trekking trail all along the Kaligandaki River upstream and traverse as far as Kagbeni. A place from where we start our actual trek towards Upper Mustang and we head towards the famous pilgrimage destination of Muktinath. As we head towards the north of Kagbeni and reach Lo Manthang, a circuit filled with number of passes at an elevation ranging from 3,500 to 4000m. As we move further towards Damkar, we come across magnificent Tibetan monastery the Lo Gekar monastery which dates back to 8th century by the famous Tibetan magician Guru Rinpoche. We also get a glimpse of the traditional houses in Mustang which is mostly built with stone and sun baked mud bricks. The trekking circuit passes through high peaks, passes glaciers, and alpine valleys. The regions isolation for thousands of years have kept the lifestyles, cultures and tradition unchanged for centuries.

Day 2: Kathmandu: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. Drive to pokhara by vehicle.
Day 3: Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom (2720 m), trek to Kagbeni (2810 m), 3 hours.
Day 4: Trek from Kagbeni (2810 m) to Muktinath (3720 m) and return to Kagbeni, 6 hours.
Day 5: Trek from Kagbeni (2810 m) to Chele (3050 m), 6 hours.
Day 6: Trek from Chele (3050 m) to Syangboche (3800 m), 7 hours.
Day 7: Trek from Syangboche (3800 m) to Ghemi (3520 m), 3 hours.
Day 8: Trek from Ghemi to Tsarang (3560 m), 3 hours.
Day 9: Trek from Tsarang (3560 m) to Lo Mangtang (3800 m), 4 hours.
Day 10: Rest day -Lo Mangtang.
Day 11: Trek from Lo Mangtang (3800 m) to Dhakmar (3820 m), 6 hours.
Day 12: Trek from Dhakmar (3820 m) to Ghiling (3570 m), 6 hours.
Day 13: Trek from Ghiling (3570 m) to Samar (3660 m), 4 hours.
Day 14: Trek from Samar (3660 m) to Jomsom (2720 m), 3 hours.
Day 15: Flight back from Jomsom to Pokhara.
Day 16: Back to Kathmandu by vehicle , 7 hours.Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 17: Souvenir and sightseeing in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Final departure.
