Welcome to the beautiful country of Himalayas, Nepal. Nepal has unlimited adventurous activities and opportunities to offer which is situated between India and China. This small Himalayan country is the home of various flora and fauna as it is blessed by the diverse topography which ranges from 70 meters above the sea level to top of the world.

Religion: Characteristic of being the only Hindu country in the world. However, there is a harmonious blending of Hinduism, Buddhism, Christian and Islam.

 

  1. How to get into Nepal

As Nepal is landlocked country, the only two ways to get into Nepal is either by air or by land.Like the most of the travelers visiting Nepal, if you want to travel by air then the Tribhuvan International Airport is the only international airport in Nepal. The Nepali flag carrier airplane is the Royal Nepal Airlines that carries the passengers across Bangkok, Calcutta, Delhi, Vanarasi, London, Paris, Moscow, Lhasa, Hongkong, AbuDhabi and Karachi etc. The international airlines operating the international flight to Nepal are Singapore airlines, Thai airlines, China airlines, Indian Airlines, Spice jet, Bangladesh airlines, Pakistan airlines, Druk Air and Qatar Airlines.While entering from land, the major entry points connected to India Borders are BIrgunj, Kakkarbhitta, Bhairawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi and Mahendranagar. The only entry point from China border is Kodari point connecting Lhasa.

 

  1. Information about getting Nepal Visa

You must have a visa to enter into Nepal and this visa is granted at Nepalese embassies abroad or on-arrival visa can also be granted at Tribhuvan International Airport and other entry points. Indian nationals do not require visa to enter into Nepal but they have to show the original passport or identity card issued by the Indian government of India with two passport sized photographs.Chinese nationals should get the visas from the Nepalese embassy in China as there is no provision for on-arrival visa at entry points of Nepal.
The visa rates and options are given below:

  • Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 15 days – US$ 25 or equivalent foreign currency.
  • Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days – US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency.
  • Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days – US $ 100 or equivalent foreign currency.

According to the policies of Nepal Government tourist visas can be extended. Fees for tourist visa extension for 15 days or less is US$ 30. Similarly, Tourist Visa can be extended for more than 15 days by paying US $ 2 or equivalent Nepalese currency per day. And please be noted that Tourist visas can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a year.

 

  1. Climate and Weather of Nepal

Climate of Nepal: Nepal has four major seasons:
Winter: December-February
Spring: March-May
Summer: June-August
Autumn: September-November

 

 Best time to visit Nepal
Autumn (September, October, and November) are best seasons for all activities.
Spring (March, April and May) are the best seasons for high altitudes and climbing activities.
Winter (December, January and February) are good months for low altitude treks and tours.
Monsoon (June, July and August) are off season due to visibility but it doesn’t affect while trekking in rain Shadow areas.

 

  1. Electricity system in Nepal

Voltage system in Nepal is 220-240 volts which is different from 110-120 volts followed in USA and Canada. Similarly the frequency is of 50HZ. The electronic devices which operates on 110-120 volts like hair dryers, laptops, shaving kits and other electronics you need plug adaptor and voltage converter so that you will not break down the device and end up injuring yourself.
